Why should I choose Cummings Andrews Mackay LLP over other professional services?
Our Lawyers continue the tradition of quality service at reasonable prices initiated by the founding firm members in 1915. Client service is our top priority. You will be well served by Cummings Andrews Mackay LLP.
Who does your firm represent in injury accident cases?
Our 20 full-time lawyers and staff represent and assist ONLY injured persons. Serving you and your family is our priority. Hospital and in-home consultations can be arranged.
Does your firm only handle injury law cases?
We are a full-service civil law firm. Our two solicitors, having combined experience of more than 50 years, can handle your land, business, and estate matters. Please ask for Frank Mackay.
Who is responsible for expert witness expenses?
To obtain the financial result your case deserves, it is often important to hire highly qualified experts – quickly. Given the high expense of hiring experts, we pay all expert witness charges on your behalf. When a case is won, these expenses are returned to our firm over and above money awarded to you. In the event of a case not being successful, we absorb these costs provided our firm has been advised by you, of all accident particulars.
What kind of references does your firm have available?
References from our clients, rehabilitation doctors, vocational experts, cost-of-care, economic and other experts are available. A FREE brochure, compiled from media sources, describing Alberta, British Columbia, Canadian and British Commonwealth precedent-setting injury case results is available for your review.
Does Cummings Andrews Mackay LLP handle files for other law firms?
In difficult and expensive injury accident cases, we will handle files for colleagues in other firms and their clients on a negotiated basis.
How are court awards reached?
Awards vary and are dependent upon many factors including severity of injury, duration of loss, and applicable heads of damage. Our out-of-court settlements and court awards have reached $5 million in lump-sum payments and $30 million in structured settlement payments (which are tax-free monthly and lump-sum payments for life).
If I’ve been injured in a vehicle accident caused by a family member, can I bring action against them?
The law now permits you to bring action against family members who operate a vehicle carelessly. The vehicle owner’s insurer must pay the injured family member in proper cases.
It is in your family’s best interest to ensure your policy has an “Underinsured Motorist Endorsement (S.E.F. 44)” for $1 million or more. The annual premium for this endorsement is less than the cost of one restaurant meal.
